Triceratops Tame the Lions of Community Christian, 84-74

The Triceratops (16-9, 11-2) had a slow start but eventually overcame the visiting Lions of Community Christian (13-9, 6-8) on February 19, 2025. The Lions kept the game close for the first 10 minutes, but the Triceratops found their rhythm and took a 41-32 lead into halftime.

Devonte Greene had a standout performance, leading all scorers with 27 points. The sophomore wing was on fire, shooting 83% from the free-throw line—his best performance of the season—and also grabbed 16 total rebounds, including 10 offensive boards. Chris Brownlee added 15 points, while Adisa Molton dished out a game-high five assists. Molton has now led the team in assists in 10 of the last 11 games. Xavier Van contributed 12 points.

Defensively, the Triceratops locked down after a sluggish start. Sophomore Saeviaon Brown was a key contributor, posting 10 rebounds and four steals. His efforts were crucial in limiting the Lions to just 15 three-point attempts on the night. Coach Nixon's strategy was to force the Lions inside, where the Triceratops had the clear advantage. The team executed well, forcing Community Christian to adjust and chase points away from the perimeter.
