Tops stay undefeated in conference play

Devonte Greene delivered an exceptional performance, posting a dominant double-double with 20 points and 17 rebounds to help lead the Tops to a commanding 109-82 victory over the Clark State Eagles. Greene, who finished second in the nation in field goal percentage last season, played a key role alongside Xavier Vann, who poured in 30 points, as the Tops secured their fourth conference win, improving to 6-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play. They were also supported by Joel Webb (14 points), Adisa Molton, and Saevion Brown (10 points each).

While Vann had his best offensive game of the season, he was also a defensive standout, contributing five steals and multiple deflections. Vann's aggressive drives to the basket were complemented by Greene, who dominated the boards, grabbing nine offensive rebounds. The Tops took control early with a 48-35 lead at halftime and never looked back, outscoring the Eagles 61-47 in the second half to seal the win.

Key Takeaways:

  • Despite the dominant win, the team struggled at the free-throw line, missing 13 of 30 attempts, and committed 20 turnovers.
