Epic Rally Triceratops Storm Back From 9-1 Hole to Shock Edison State 10-9

CLEVELAND, OH — What began as a rout turned into an instant classic, as the Cuyahoga Community College Triceratops mounted one of the most electrifying comebacks in program history to stun Edison State 10-9 at Mottl Field.

Down 9-1 in the bottom of the fifth, the Triceratops needed a miracle, and freshman outfielder Jackson Boles delivered. With two outs and a runner aboard, Boles launched a towering two-run homer over the right field wall, injecting life into the dugout and setting the stage for a furious rally.

"The energy completely shifted with that swing," said head coach Kyle Stahlberg. "From that moment on, the guys believed. You could feel it."

What followed was pure chaos for the visiting Chargers. The Triceratops erupted for nine unanswered runs in the inning, capitalizing on Edison's unraveling defense and command issues. A passed ball, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch later, Cuyahoga had flipped the script and completed a jaw-dropping comeback.

Boles led the charge with two hits and three RBIs, while Kohan Merritt added two hits of his own, and Adam Rich drove in three key runs.

But beyond the heroics of the night, the victory etched itself into the record books, marking Cuyahoga's 31st straight win, extending an already historic streak and cementing this team's place among the all-time greats.

"We're playing at an unbelievable level right now," Stahlberg said. "This team refuses to quit, and tonight proved that in the biggest way."

With the comeback, Cuyahoga not only secured a pivotal conference win, they did it with heart, grit, and a flair for the dramatic.
