The Triceratops continued their dominant run, extending their win streak to eight with a commanding 7-0 victory over the Lorain Community College Commodores in game one.
Johnathan Birchler was exceptional on the mound, tossing a complete game shutout, and striking out eight while allowing just four hits. The Commodores were off-balance throughout the game as Birchler's fastball kept them guessing from start to finish.
Offensively, the Triceratops were in sync, with Brock Miller launching a home run and Vinny Gallaher hitting a pair of doubles. Gallaher also contributed three hits, further fueling the offensive surge. Kohan Merritt added two runs and two hits, rounding out a well-balanced attack.
"This was another great team performance. Our pitching and hitting were both in sync, showing we're not a one-dimensional team," said Coach Kyle Stahlberg. "Birchler had everything working today, and the offense backed him up. It's a great start to the series."
With the victory, the Triceratops' win streak now stands at eight as they continue to dominate both on the mound and at the plate.
In Game two Kyle Figuray drove in four runs including a home run as the Triceratops eased to a 16-3 win in game two. Figuray also scored three runs. Mitchell Harder and Ethan Ebert combined to hold the Commodores to three earned runs while striking out nine. Jackson Boles, and Brycen Brittan each hit a pair of doubles to help complete the two-game sweep.
