Tri-C Triceratops Reach 30 Straight Wins
The Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C®) Triceratops baseball team claimed its 30th consecutive victory when it defeated Owens Community College in an away doubleheader on April 16, 9-4 and 9-2.
This is the team's longest win streak, dating back to at least 2013 and likely the longest in team history.
"I am not sure that this was ever a goal of ours, but it definitely has been a fun ride for the entire team," said head coach Kyle Stahlberg.
The team has an overall record of 31-5 and is undefeated in conference play at 18-0.
"What impresses me as their coach is that there has not been much conversation about the win streak at practices or on our bus rides," Stahlberg said. "That is exactly what makes this group so good. Their focus is on the game that's right in front of them. It is a collective maturity, and there is an extraordinary amount of team chemistry.
"My coaching staff has also been amazing during this run. It is easy to let up and sit back on some of the success, but Bryan Miller, Jake Solomon, Tim Miller and Matt Kerhin are relentless with our standards and accountability."
The Triceratops next face the Edison State Chargers away on April 18 and at Ron Mottl Field at Tri-C's Western Campus in Parma on April 21.
"We love the run we have had, but I truly believe our guys are still laser-focused on our conference, regional and national goals," Stahlberg said. "This is a special group of guys."
