The Tri-C baseball team took three of four from the Hocking Hawks on games played Sunday and Monday.
Game 1 Tops 12 Hawks 5
The Tops were led offensively by Carter Gast and Kyle Koehler who each had 4 RBIs and homeruns with Gast hitting a grand slam. Silas Moore also had 3 hits on the day and Connor Bozak added 2 hits. Ty Pangborn went 4 strong innings striking out 9 and Ricardo Medrano and Zack Barber finished the win.
Game 2 Tops 7 Hawks 4
The Tops only managed 6 hits in the Sunday nightcap at Hocking but came away with a needed win. Kyle Koehler again hit a HR and had 2 RBI's. Collin Russ added 2 RBI's as well.Layton O'Rourke got the win with 4 innings, striking out 7 and walking none. Gavin Mangus finished the game striking out 5.
Game 3 Hawks 10 Tops 7
The Tops fell behind early and their 7th inning comeback fell just short as they fell to Hocking 10-7. Silas Moore, Adrian Harrison and Kyle Koehler all had multiple hits for the Tops. Brendan Hazuda homered as well. Jaren Slusher took the loss. Skyler Kries relieved and gave the Tops a chance but they fell to the Hawks.
Game 4 Tops 8 Hawks 7
The Tops avoided getting swept at home in dramatic fashion as Adrian Harrison singled home 2 in the bottom of the 7th for an 8-7 Tops victory. Brendan Hazuda had 4 hits and Silas Moore had 3 hits. Mason Koons, Justin Theisen and Harrison all had 2. Koons, Garret Grinstead and Harrison all had multiple RBIs. Mitchell Lang got the win for the Tops pitching a scorelss 7th to give the Tops their shot to win it.
Tri-C is now 21-11 on the season and 11-3 in OCCAC play. There is no rest for the weary as they will host league leading Owens CC today for a key doubleheader. Games start at 5 pm and 7 pm at Ron Mottl Field.
