The Lakeland women's basketball team traveled to Cuyahoga Community College tonight to face the Triceratops in OCCAC action. The Lakers avenged an earlier loss to Tri-C with a convincing 58-35 victory. With the win, the Lakers evened their conference record to 4-4 and have put themselves in position to battle for a post-season birth. The game started with a blistering pace in the first quarter as both teams traded baskets and ended the quarter tied at 17.  Lakeland then used a dominating second and third quarter to overwhelm the Triceratops and take the game. During the two quarter combined, Lakeland held Tri-C to 8 total points (4 points each quarter) while taking advantage of their own balanced scoring attack to lead 31-21 at the break and then 42-25 at the end of the 3rd quarter. From there, the Lakers cruised to the victory.

Lakeland had a balanced scoring attack as 3 players finished in double digits. Trinity Jackson led the Lakers in scoring with 20 points while Monica Devine had a strong inside game and finished with 15 points. Lakeland's Monetta Hilory finished her evening with 13 points while Nitzy Rios added 7 points.  Jai'Lynne Hitt-Swartz chipped in 3 points for the Lakers in the win.

AC Haydu's Happenings: "We are really proud of the team for competing for a full 40 minutes. Everyone played hard and with confidence today. We have a big challenge coming up this weekend and are looking forward to hosting Edison."
