The Lakeland men's soccer team traveled to Cuyahoga today to play the Triceratops in OCCAC action and dropped a hard-fought 2-1 decision. Tri-C scored the first goal 7 minutes into the match. On the goal, the play started when a free kick from 45 yards out was lifted into the box. In a scramble for the ball, Tri-C was able to gain control at about the 6-yard line and net the goal. Lakeland regained it's composure quickly and maintained most of the ball possession throughout the rest of the half; but still went into the break trailing 1-0. In the second half, the Lakers came out strong and would score the tying goal off a set-piece as Omar Inga rifled a ball to the back post to tie the game at 1-1. With 10 minutes left in the game, Tri-C would score the winning goal as they took advantage of a Laker mistake in the defensive end. After that, Lakeland continued to fight, but lost their shape as they pressed to score. Unfortunately, this made it more difficult to mount a strong offensive effort and the Lakers fell in the end.
