Perrysburg, OH- Volleyball kicked off the start of the 2024 season this past weekend at the Owens Invitational in Perrysburg, OH.
The Owls started off the weekend facing off against Owens Community College and would go onto lose in straight sets to a very tough Express team. Later that evening, the Owls did battle with Cuyahoga Community College and fell to the Triceratops in four sets.
On day two of the Owns Invitational, the Owls faced off against the 22nd ranked NJCAA Division II team in the country, McHenry County College. The match was hard fought but the Owls would end up falling to the Scots in straight sets. To end the weekend, the Owls had an afternoon tilt with Eagles of Clark State College where the Owls would again fall in straight sets.
Alexis Glenn (Brighton, MI/Brighton) led the offense with 26 kills and a hitting percentage of .179 over the four game stretch, and Emma Dunn (Clinton Twp., MI/Chippewa Valley) had a serve rating of 2.38 with 8 aces, while also contributing to 2 solo blocks and 6 assisted blocks over the weekend.
